Eric Hall served as coordinator for residence education for Gregson and Gibson Halls.

He recently left to start a new job. He wrote these parting words before leaving in August.

Facilities

You have been good to me and we complimented each other in our time together. Jeff and David thanks for working with me on projects (BDGR Kitchen and remodeling Pomfret Study Room) and collaborating on capital purchases for the buildings.

You all truly have an open door policy and listen to our concerns and ideas regarding building improvements.

Judy and your team continues to be great and I try to do my part and support your team. While working Summer School for two years, I learned more about Building Services and tried to play an active role in supporting you and your team in a busy Summer Conference season. Mrs. Kathy and Ms. Beverly thanks for being awesome and tag teaming on the Quad in the Summertime. Seth, you have the best staff at Gregson/Gibson. Lewis, Becky, and Sonia have been great. They take care of me and the buildings and I strived to do the same in return. Seth keep the ideas coming and the enthusiasm you provide to the Building Services area. I can’t forget about the staff at Pomfret where I started. Shane and his staff are awesome in the largest high rise building. I enjoyed my time there and working with him and the team.

Aaron enjoy working with your Maintenance personnel. These individuals work hard but have fun doing it, which plays to your personality and your countless stories. Jeff M. is one of the best in the business and he inspires me to do the little things and keep moving forward. You have a good team and miss hanging with those guys at Pomfret from time to time (Jim, Leon, and David).

Administrative Services

I appreciate the work you do especially by being the 1st point of contact with students and parents. Again, I learned more about this area while working Summer School for two years. Thanks for your patience with me and all you do for our customers. I really enjoyed checking in on you all because I know it can be stressful at times managing parents and parents, but you are an important part of the University Housing in managing student contracts and assignments across the board. Christopher, thanks for listening to my ideas and making the effort to streamline our marketing initiatives. You always open to listening to my requests and seeing what we could make come to fruition.

Conference Services will continue to tweak the great program you have in place. I honestly believe you all are on track to iron out the wrinkles and fine tuning your processes and timeline. Ask Billy/Flo/Paul to upgrade Conference Programmer and set a timeline to improve the software. I am glad Summer School is under your umbrella now and would be nice to give the Quad a break and rotate Summer School.

With StarRez online, Admin Services is learning but definitely looking promising with the leadership in place and I am confident those individuals will get it right for us and everyone we serve using StarRez.

Business/IT

I know you all are relieved that I am gone ?. You all helped me become more savvy with purchasing and I am sure I made some things fun with contracts each and every year. Thanks for helping me spend money and host events on campus. I enjoyed getting to know you all and appreciate everything did for me in the purchasing realm. Thanks for sitting with me and showing me the ropes from booking retreats to bring speakers to campus. I always felt like the exception to the rule but you all were always willing to work with me to get the job done.

IT thanks for always troubleshooting items for me or for the students. I enjoyed the small talk and getting to know you all over time. I am grateful for the wifi and Avigilon being installed at Pomfret, Gregson, and Gibson. E. Roberts and team…I know it may have been tedious but thanks for installing and maintaining the print station at Pomfret Hall. You all have come in clutch with last minute requests and created a healthy habit to communicate any technology updates/items to me directly and the department overall.

Cordially,

Eric J. Hall
