Housing’s information technology staff  were busy in recent months working with campus partners to plan for future technology needs.

Here’s a round up of some of those efforts.

Brian Bopp is working on a virtual desktop infrastructure workgroup which will transform how software services are delivered to desktop and mobile platforms. He is also working on an active directory workgroup which will re-imagine how computers are managed, how logins work across campus and even a domain change for the University (from uark.edu to arkansas.edu).

Matt Rose is working on a service desk workgroup which selected a new software product for tracking IT work orders and automating many software functions at the university.

Rix White is on a workgroup transforming how SharePoint is delivered on campus.

William Wilkins is on a workgroup standardizing how custom applications are developed across campus.

Eric Roberts was the project lead on the Exchange migration project. He also worked on the  Office 365 release to campus. He was on the workgroup which delivered this functionality to campus.

Long story short, Housing’s IT staff are making a difference across campus by seating at the table as decisions are made that will affect staff and students.
