A collaboration between University Housing and Print-Mail-Copy Solutions put a pop-up mail center in the Northwest Quad during the week before spring break.
The Pop-Up Shop offered services such as:
- USPS Priority mail
- First-class mail and stamp sales
- FedEx, UPS and DHL international shipping
The service was open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., March 13-17 at the NW Quad front desk.
The idea came about when the mail center asked a group of industrial engineering students for recommendations on how the center can expand its business processes. The students said that providing access to mail services that are closer to residences than the Arkansas Union would be helpful at certain times of the year.
So the Pop-Up Shop was developed.
Dawn McFetters was approached by Penny Bellard and Doug Norwood of PMC about the idea.
“We believe that this will benefit both our students as well as our campus partner,” she said.
