Flowers From Mom: Assignments Staff Makes Parent Happy

In late April, Blake and Tia helped a concerned parent and student find a room after concern that the student would not be able to live in Hotz Honors Hall. Admittedly, the student contracted late, and it appeared that no rooms remained in the hall.

By looking closely at the inventory, Blake and Tia were able to find a room that – through some assignments desk magic – was able to serve as this student’s future home.

Unexpectedly, the mother of that student then delivered flowers and some Monty’s World chocolates to say thanks.

Lost In His Own World

Christopher Spencer was caught unaware in early May as Becky Clark took a photo.

He was experimenting with a 360 camera and virtual reality headset as Becky caught the photo through his office window.

“I was in a roller coaster simulator when she took the photo. I’m glad she didn’t catch me a moment before as I was losing my balance,” Christopher said.

Housing’s marketing and strategic communications area recently purchased a 360 camera in an effort to provide more immersive photos of residence hall rooms to incoming students and parents.

Appreciating Faculty

Faculty take a “funny one” just before lunch held April 28 at Ella’s in Carnall Hall. University Housing staff held this lunch to show appreciation for faculty who assisted with Housing this past school year.
