University Housing and Chartwells teamed up this fall to support the Housing Family Scholarship. It’s been a delicious way to raise money for a great cause.

Five percent of the money raised by true burger sales in August and September go to this fund. The scholarship makes higher education more accessible for the family members of University Housing’s staff.

So far, the fund is up to almost $6,000 with a goal of $25,000 to make it an endowed scholarship. The fund totaled $2,120 last September, so it’s almost tripled in only one year.

Staff and others generously donated to the fund each year during the March #AllInForArkansas campaign.

“You have until 9/30 to eat as much beef, turkey and bean burgers as possible, along with shakes and fries,” said Sue Harris, director of development for Student Affairs.
