More than $4,600 was added to the Housing Family Scholarship through a recent fundraising campaign at true burger.
University Housing and Chartwells Schools Dining Services partnered to dedicate 5 percent of all true burger sales to the scholarship between August and September.
This donation raises the total funds for the scholarship to $10,749.37. The goal is to raise $25,000 so the fund will become endowed and exist as a sustained annual scholarship.
The Housing Family Scholarship provides money to purchase textbooks for a dependent child, grandchild, niece or nephew of a current staff member who has been employed at least three consecutive years.
Alisha Gilbride, associate director for administrative services, leads a newly created scholarship committee that will work to ensure the scholarship becomes endowed.
