Felisha Perridon recently received the NASPA IV-West NUFP Champion Award for her work mentoring students from traditionally underrepresented and historically disenfranchised populations.

The NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program, or NUFP, attempts to broaden diversity in student affairs organizations. This includes those of racial and ethnic-minority background, those having a disability and those identifying as LGBTQ.

Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, or NASPA, is comprised of over 15,000 members in all 50 states, 25 countries, and 8 U.S. Territories.

The University of Arkansas is part of the IV-West region of NASPA. Felisha was nominated for the award by the Division of Student Affairs.

“I have been involved with our campus NUFP program for close to 12 or 13 years,” said Felisha. “We have a campus-coordinating team who work together to provide support for our campus-based program.  I have had approximately 7 NUFP mentees over the years and I have had close ties with many of the other students who have participated in the NUFP program.

“It is a program that is very close to my heart and I value the relationships that I have formed with past participants and mentees.  I keep in contact with my past mentees and will make every effort to have coffee or a chat with them when they are in Fayetteville.”

We all congratulate Felisha on her efforts to make the University of Arkansas a more inclusive workplace.

“If you see Felisha tell her congratulations and thanks for working with students in the NUFP program,” said Flo Johnson, assistant vice-chancellor for University Housing.
